Education and participation for children and teenagers

Education package

Dependent children and teenagers have a legal right to participate, for example day trips and lunchtimes at school and in kindergartens, in music, sport and games in clubs and groups. The education package was introduced to specifically support children and teenagers.

The education and participation package is available for children, teenagers and young adults who are entitled to

  • basic jobseekers’ allowance pursuant to SGB II
  • social support pursuant to SGB XII (including asylum seekers whose benefits are determined via Section 2 para. 1 of the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG) in the scope and amount pursuant to SGB XII)
  • child benefits in line with the Federal Law on family allowances
  • housing benefits in line with the housing allowance law

When claiming housing benefits, a child benefit claim must also exist for the child entitled to benefits.

Benefits for education and participation can be applied for at the Landratsamt Ebersberg, Besondere Soziale Leistungen, Eichthalstraße 5, 85560 Ebersberg.
