Moving while receiving benefits

You are obliged to notify the authorities immediately of any change of address while receiving benefits.

The necessity of the move, the suitability of the prospective accommodation and relocation costs must be agreed with us before renting accommodation.

If a move is carried out without notifying us, additional costs (e.g. deposit, moving costs) and a potentially higher rent may not be covered.

Moves associated with costs may only be approved if this is necessary (e.g. a larger home is required due to a growing family) and the costs of the new home are appropriate.

Notifying the job centre in good time can help prevent any severe financial consequences.

Please contact your advisor to discuss.

If you will fall under the responsibility of another job centre due to a relocation, it is recommended to contact the new job centre in advance accompanied with an unsigned rental agreement.
